Brent Mayhew rejoined the Jubilee Chorale as its accompanist in September 2010, having previously worked with the chorale for 10 years from 1998 to 2008.

 

Brent lives in Orillia (Ontario), and teaches private piano and theory lessons from his studio. He is a graduate of Western University receiving a Bachelor of Music, Honours Music Education, and a Bachelor of Education from Althouse College. He is a member of O.R.M.T.A.

 

Brent is the accompanist for the Lyrica Chamber Choir in Barrie, as well as for the Jubilee Chorale Choir in Orillia. Brent has accompanied distinguished solo vocalists. Other engagements include contract pianist for a variety of professional venues, as well as Music Director for St. David's Anglican Lutheran Church-Orillia.

 

One of Brent’s solo piano recitals included Chopin Nocturnes and Schubert Impromptus. Brent recorded the Schubert Impromptus for his first CD which was released in June 2006. Brent recorded a second CD; “Mendelssohn” Songs Without Words in September 2010. CDs are available at recital performances, and surrounding area. Brent's recent recitals featured romantic works - Consolations and Liebesträume by Liszt, Opus 118 by Brahms, and select Schubert Impromptus from Brent’s CD.
